Audition Announcement

We are happy to announce open auditions for our early March production of William Shakespeare’s “Othello” and late April production of Georg Buchner’s “Woyzeck”.


Locations and Times
December 10, 7-930pm (Othello only) @ Merrimack YMCA, 6 Henry Clay Dr, Merrimack NH
December 15, 2-6pm (Othello/Woyzeck) @ Dance Concepts, 122 Bridge St #3B, Pelham NH
December 16, 7-9pm (Othello only) @ Lowell YMCA, 35 YMCA Dr, Lowell MA


Directed by Ozan Haksever, Adapted by John Kneeland

The role of Othello is not available for casting.  All other roles are open (Men, 20s-60s/Females, 20s-30s).  Auditions will consist of readings from the script, a 1-2 minute Shakespearean monologue is welcome but not required.

Rehearsals will begin in early January; Sundays at Dance Concepts and no more than 2 weekday rehearsals based on scheduling conflicts.

Performances will be held at Club Lafayette, 465 Fletcher St. Lowell MA from March 7-15, 2014.


Woyzeck (a play with music)
Adapted and Directed by Dylan Gamblin

Please prepare a 1-3 minute dramatic monologue of your choosing and cold readings from the script.
Prepare 16-32 bars of a Pop, Rock or Musical song. Accompaniment will be provided. If you play an instrument, you are encouraged to bring it with you to the audition  Bonus points for accompanying yourself.
Rehearsals are TBD.  Performances will be held in late April/early May 2014

Roles available:
Marie: 20 – 30; Mother of Woyzeck’s child; must be comfortable with strong sexual acts; Alto
Drum Major: 25 – 35; Love interest of Marie; must be comfortable with strong sexual acts; Bari-Tenor
Ring Master; 20 – 30; Emcee of the Carnivale; Soprano
Captain; late 20′s – late 30′s; The headstrong Captain of the miltary base; any vocal range
Doctor; 25 – 35; The immoral Doctor of the military base; any vocal range
Andreas; any age; Woyzeck’s only friend; any vocal range
The Two Drunk Soldiers; 20 – 30; The almost loveable town drunks; Bari- Tenor
Boy (puppeteer); Woyzeck’s child
